Crop loss relief aid : The state government has released an additional input subsidy of ₹1,033 crore as compensation to farmers who were facing crop losses due to incessant rains. This is being given as compensation for the loss of the monsoon season and is expected to allay the concerns of farmers.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today officially launched the process of transferring the compensation amount directly to the bank accounts of farmers through DBT.
Compensation amount

Amid criticism that the compensation amount being given to farmers as per the Centre’s NDRF guidelines has been reduced, the state government has increased the compensation significantly by adding its own additional grant. The government has announced the new official rate list:
| Crop type | Old Rate (NDRF) | State government’s new rate |
|---|---|---|
| Rainfed crop | ₹8,500 (per hectare) | ₹17,000 (per hectare) |
| Irrigated crop | ₹17,000 | ₹25,000 |
| Horticulture/Perennial Crop | ₹22,500 | ₹31,000 |
According to government regulations, the compensation will be applicable only up to a maximum of 2 hectares (about 5 acres ) per farmer.
Huge relief flow to Dharwad district
Dharwad has once again topped the list of districts in the state that have recorded the highest rainfall losses. According to the latest available data, a large share of the compensation in this district is going to the accounts of farmers.
In this round of distribution, which has given high priority to North Karnataka, the assistance received in Dharwad is as follows:
- The department has identified 65,217 farmers in the district as eligible for compensation.
- A total amount of ₹63.16 crore has been released for them and is being credited to their accounts through DBT.
- Areas where losses in sorghum, cotton, soybean, and maize crops have been recorded are the main targets of this assistance.
Considering the amount of compensation and the number of farmers benefiting, Dharwad district clearly stands out in the list of districts that have benefited the most from this year’s rain damage compensation.
Has the money been deposited to the farmers? An easy way to check on your mobile
There is no need to go to the bank to check whether the rain compensation money has been deposited in your account. You can check the status in a few moments using the online system provided by the Department of Agriculture.
The steps required for verification are as follows:
- First, open the ‘Parihara‘ portal.
- Select the year as 2025-26 and the season as Kharif (Monsoon) .
- In the ‘Disaster Type’ section, enter the option Flood/Excess Rain .
- Then enter your Aadhaar number and press the ‘Fetch’ button.
- If the compensation has been credited to your account, a green “Payment Success” notification will clearly appear on the results page.
This system has given farmers the opportunity to know their relief status at their doorstep, avoiding bank jams and queues.
Compensation money not received? These are the common errors that cause it
The department has reported cases where the compensation amount has not been reflected in the accounts of some farmers despite the government releasing it. According to officials, this problem is due to three main technical-document-related reasons.
1. NPCI Mapping Issue:
If the Aadhaar number is not linked to the bank account, or if the NPCI mapping is not correct even though it is linked, then the DBT money will not reach the account. This is a common error.
2. Agricultural record discrepancy in FRUITS portal
If the farmer’s land details (FID) in the FRUITS portal is incorrect, the system will consider the farmer as ineligible and prevent the transfer of funds.
3. Name Matching Issue:
If the name on the Aadhaar card and the name on the bank passbook do not match exactly, the payment will be returned due to technical reasons.
