The Muhurat has been fixed for the Jatra Mahotsav of Shirsi Shri Marikamba Devi, the pride of Uttara Kannada district and the power goddess of the country. When will the darshan of Mother?” The temple management has given good news to the lakhs of devotees who were waiting. The muhurta of the fair was finalized in an important meeting held on Sunday.

As decided in a meeting of the temple’s trustee board and the Babudars, this time’s historic fair will begin on February 24th and continue with grandeur until March 4th.

- Rathotsava: On February 25th.

Schedule of religious ceremonies
Vedamurthy Ramakrishna Bhatta Kerekai and Sharan Acharya have officially announced the dates, and the programs are as follows:
- Preparations from January 7th: Pre-fair preparations will begin from January 7th.
- Horabeedu: The ‘Horabeedu’ program will be held on February 3rd.
- Kalash Pratishtha: The Kalash Pratishtha and Kalyana Pratishtha of the Goddess’ chariot will be performed on February 24th.
- Rathrohana: Goddess rides the chariot on February 25th (Rathotsava).
- Re-consecration: The fair will end on March 4th, and the re-consecration will take place on Ugadi, March 19th.
All facilities for devotees
In a meeting chaired by MLA Bhimanna Nayak, officials were instructed to ensure that lakhs of devotees are not inconvenienced. Plans have been made to ensure proper provision of drinking water, cleanliness, and bus system.

Pilgrims note: “If you are planning to come to the Sirsi fair, it is better to book a lodge or hotel now. There will be a huge rush on the day of the chariot festival (Feb. 25). If you want to have a worry-free darshan of the goddess, it is advisable to come after February 26 or 27.”
