NEW DELHI — The National Testing Agency (NTA) is preparing to declare the results of the Re-NEET UG 2026 examination by July 20, 2026. Senior officials within the agency have confirmed that answer sheet evaluation is being executed on a “war footing” to fast-track the admission cycle and minimize disruptions to the medical academic calendar.
The nationwide re-test was conducted on June 21, 2026, across thousands of centers after the original May 3 examination was cancelled due to an alleged paper leak. The massive undertaking saw a high turnout, with over 20 lakh MBBS and BDS aspirants appearing for the pen-and-paper based exam.
War Footing Evaluation: Final Key to Drop Soon
Following the conclusion of the re-exam, the NTA released the provisional answer key on June 25, opening a challenge window that shut on June 28. The agency reportedly received nearly 10,000 student objections, all of which are currently being scrutinized by panel-appointed subject experts.
According to NTA sources, the Final Answer Key will be uploaded to the official website right alongside, or just hours before, the announcement of the formal results. This final key will serve as the absolute basis for calculating student scores, meaning no further evaluation challenges will be accepted.
Furthermore, scanned OMR response sheets are expected to be hosted on the student portal imminently, allowing candidates to cross-verify their marked choices prior to viewing their official ranks.
Expected Cut-off Percentiles for 2026
While the final merit list and All India Ranks (AIR) will fluctuate depending on overall performance, the minimum qualifying percentiles required to participate in subsequent medical counselling remain strictly structured:
| Category | Minimum Qualifying Percentile | Estimated Marks Range (Out of 720) |
| General (UR) / EWS | 50th Percentile | 720 – 138 |
| OBC / SC / ST | 40th Percentile | 137 – 108 |
| UR / EWS – PwD | 45th Percentile | 137 – 122 |
| OBC / SC / ST – PwD | 40th Percentile | 121 – 108 |
Fast-Track Counselling to Follow Immediately
To ensure that medical colleges can commence their first-year classes without cascading delays, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is projected to compress its usual admission timeline.
Counselling registration for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats—which governs admission to premier institutions like AIIMS, JIPMER, and Central Universities—will open shortly after the results go live. Concurrently, individual state counselling authorities will publish independent schedules to process admissions for their respective 85% State Quota seats.
Aspirants are strongly advised to keep their academic documents, identity verifications, and caste/category certificates organized to prevent eleventh-hour delays when the seat allotment rounds kick off.
How to Access Your Scorecard: Once released, students can download their official rank letters by visiting the official NTA NEET portal and logging in with their Application Number, Date of Birth, and the displayed security pin.
